The preferred bidder for the main works tunnel fit out £400 million contract, referred to as C610, was contacted by Crossrail on Thursday 28th March 2013 to be told the good news.
From the original 5 shortlisted candidates, only 3 remained in competition for this prestigious infrastructure construction works package, the most important all over Europe for the rail industry.
Finally at the end of last week, following several months of an intense bidding process, the ALSTOM Transport - TSO and Costain Joint Venture were annonced as the preferred bidder.
The successful contractor is to mobilise its early core team from mid April this year and will be required to deliver the operational railway after the major testing and commissioning phases which will include OLE energisations, Dynamic Testing and Trial Running before handover to the Infrastructure Maintainer in late 2018.
